Wamsutta Mills Renovation.
Restoration and Renovation to bring you the Suites at Wamsutta Place. Now completed, this historic brick mill building shares all of the classic charm and beauty of the hugely successful Wamsutta Lofts.
Originally constructed in 1865, The Wamsutta Mills were the first and only textile mills in New Bedford for 40 years.
In the past, these two buildings were joined by footbridge to support the magnitude of industry. The larger mill fashioned the famous Percale Cotton fabric while the smaller mill would treat it, giving it wonderfully brilliant color.
But Acorn has brought these two together in another fashion. What once was connected by industry is now the cornerstone of a burgeoning waterfront community. The Suites at Wamsutta tie the space together with a shared courtyard and dog park, the historic clock tower and the tallest flagpole in New Bedford.
Acorn is the recipient of the Tsongas Award for Preservation in Massachusetts. Our work is done with the utmost care, attention, and sophistication. This is your world, made new.
